A speed reducer 10, formed of housing halves 11 joined together at radially extending peripheral flanges 14 by spaced bolts 15, carries a pair of identical mounting brackets 17 each having faces 18 at right-angles to each other and end flanges 20 containing holes through which pass mounting bolts 15. Threaded openings 24 are formed in the faces 18 and strengthening gussets 35 are formed in the bends. As shown in Fig. 2, the brackets support a motor mounting plate 26 by means of bolts 29 and nuts 30. The brackets 17 may also function as a mounting pedestal, Fig. 4.</p> |
