Moulds; pressing-dies.-Apparatus for the production of concrete ventilating bricks comprises a mould furnished with movable tubular members which co-operate with blade-like members on a pivoted pressing-die. As shown, a mould B, open at the front B<1>, is fitted with shells or dies D apertured for the passage of tubular members E movable up and down by a lever E<5>. A skeleton base F, slidable within the mould B and operable by a lever F<5>, is furnished with a hinged portion F<1> adapted to turn over on to brackets F<7> to deliver the brick on the mould side B<2>, as shown. The die G carries blade-like members G<1> adapted to co-operate with the tubes E and is adjustably mounted on a pivoted member G<3> normally elevated by a spring G<4>. In operation, the base F is lowered, a side B<2> is inserted and the tubes E are raised somewhat above the shells D. After filling in concrete, the dies G are brought down to engage the tubes E and form the brick. After pressing, the lever F<5> is operated to raise the base F and deliver the brick as shown. The tubes E are formed of flattened tubular material out away at E<6>, Fig. 6, the lower portion E<7> being forced inwards as shown. |
