Removal or carbonate - from alkaline fuel cell. In fuel cell working at low temp. with air as combustion gas, the air is cleaned of CO2, before penetrating in the core of the cell by passing through a decarbonater, while a small part of the electrolyte circulating in the cell is decarbonated continuously. The two processes remove substantially all the CO2 in the air prior to use. The operation prevents poisoning of the electrolyte. |
