Mobile liquefied gas refrigeration system for perish - able products

Refrigeration system for perishable products in transit (for several days) comprises a mobile heat-insulated container for liquefied gas having a boiling point below -20 degrees F at atmospheric pressure, and an elongated horizontal storage chamber divided into two end sections and a centre section. A conduit leads from the container to a heat exchanger which vapourised the liquid to form a liquid-vapour mixture containing between 8% and 50% vapour by weight. From the outlet of the heat exchanger the mixture passes to a spray conduit running the length of the upper part of the storage chamber. PReferably the spray openings in the conduit and more closely spaced in the end sections than in the centre section. The flow of liquid gas is controlled, by a valve responsive to the storage chamber temperature.
