PURPOSE:To control the capacity of a compressor economically by providing a bypass circuit for affording communication between an intermediate discharge port and the intake side to open and close the circuit by the use of a shape memory alloy at temperature changes in a heat source. CONSTITUTION:When a heat pump is run in winter, a spring-shaped shape memory alloy 20 extends because of low temperature of the atmosphere to push a plunger 18 through a connecting rod 19 and close an intermediate discharge port 14. Next, when the heat pump is used for a cooler in summer, said spring-like alloy 20 contracts because of high temperature of the atmosphere to pull the plunger 18 through said rod 19 for opening said port 14 while affording communication between said hole 14 and a bypass circuit 17. Thus, a compression can be controlled to have a necessary capacity for cooling. |
