<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a resin composition which can contribute to the improvement of an effect of keeping the freshness of food and to the prevention of the formation of bad and offensive odors by mixing a polyolefin resin with finely powdered eggshells. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition prepared by adding 1-50 pts.wt. finely powdered eggshells to 100 pts.wt. polyolefin resin. The polyolefin resin used means a homopolymer or copolymer of ethylene, propylene or butane or a copolymer of ethylene with vinyl acetate or ethyl acrylate. Among the finely powdered eggshells, that of chicken is particularly desirable because it can be easily available in abundance and is white. The particle diameter of the eggshell is desirably about 1-50mum. When this particle diameter is below 1mum, a packaging material prepared from this composition is not satisfactory in a freshness keeping effect and an effect of preventing bad and offensive odors, and on the contrary when it is above 50mum, the powder cannot be homogeneously dispersed in the resin composition undesirably. The resin composition can be processed into a packaging material such as a film, sheet, box, pipe or tube.</p> |
