<p>An apparatus for the application of air pressure to an endotracheal tube (2) via an air pressure syringe (8) comprising: a pressure storage means (9), means for applying pressure to load said pressure storage means (9), a releasable catch (16) means for releasably holding said pressure storage means (9) in a loaded condition, and connection means (18) for operative connection of said apparatus via the air pressure syringe (8) to an inflatable cuff (3). The releasable catch means (16) has the important advantage of freeing the hand of the anaesthetist or his assistant for other tasks, during an operation.</p> |
