PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for estimating a test process period in software development capable of accurately calculating a test process period based on the information of the number of finished test items and the number of discovered errors until a cretin point of time in a test process. SOLUTION: The calculation formula of the specified operation rate of each test process period is calculated from a relational formula indicating a relation between the number of test items and the number of discovered errors (a step S11), and an approximate function approximating the calculation formula of the specified operation rate is calculated (a step S13), and each parameter of the approximate function is controlled so that the approximate function can be satisfactorily matched with the calculation formula of the specified operation rate (a step S17), and when the approximate function is matched with the calculation formula of the specified operation rate, the value of the parameter indicating a test end period is defined as the test process period. |
