COOLING OF MOLDED MATERIAL

PURPOSE:To produce a C/C composite material in a short time by carrying out the treatment such as cooling while preventing the condensation of moisture on the molding. CONSTITUTION:A molding composed of carbon fibers and a thermosetting resin is cooled before baking by the cooling process comprising the 1st step to keep the molding at a temperature T1(T1<=T0; T0 is the molding temperature) and the 2nd step to cool the molding to a temperature T2(T2-T1<=4-100 deg.) while preventing the condensation of moisture on the molding. The cooling treatment is preferably carried out in vacuum and/or in a dried atmosphere to prevent the moisture condensation on the molding, especially in a vacuum of <=50mmHg or in a dried atmosphere having a water-vapor partial pressure of <=1.5mmHg.
