Cushion of polyurethane foam

Chair back, and optionally also sides, are made of foamed plastic (especially polyurethane) cushioning, coated with a reaction mixture which stabilises its shape in 45 seconds to 10 minutes. Reaction mixture is shaped during setting. Textile, leather or plastic cover is then optionally applied and fixed to coating by adhesive, nails or the like. Preferred self hardening mixtures are: diisocyanates, polyesters or polyethers containing hydroxyl groups; all with usual activators or fillers.
