Borehole stemming by ampoules of water filled at atmospheric pressure, slightly compressed on entering the hole so as to further pressurise the water as in 1,646,368. One or more curves or bends on the ampoule are straightened out or stretched to pressurise the water as the ampoule is thrust into the borehole. Thus the water is boosted from 0.1 atmos gauge on filling into the ampule to 0.6 atmos gauge.
