PURPOSE:To give an alarm of the difference of a size in the case that an original is inserted in a direction different in length from that of a printing paper and to stop a printing operation by providing a means for detecting the width and length of the original. CONSTITUTION:The original P inserted from an original inserting port 51 is carried so that it may pass a lower carrying path 52 with driving rollers 11-15 and lower driven rollers 31-35 and pass across an original exposing position 53. At first, the horizontal width of the original P is discriminated by an original width detecting means 70. Next, the length of the original in the carrying direction is discriminated when the original P is carried at a constant speed and the leading and trailing ends of the original pass by the original length detecting means 71. And then, in the case that the length direction of the carried original is different from the length direction of a previously set printing size, the alarm is given and simultaneously the printing operation is stopped. |
