<p>PURPOSE:To keep a floating amt. of a magnetic tape from a rotary drum to approximately the same extent even at a different relative scanning speed between a magnetic head and the magnetic tape by adding a means for changing the rotating direction of the rotary drum. CONSTITUTION:When the relative scanning speed of the magnetic head 5 to the magnetic tape 1 is low, the traveling direction of the tape 1 is the same as the scanning direction of the head 5, and when the relative scanning speed of the head 5 is high, the rotating direction of the rotary drum 2 is changed by a rotating direction changeover circuit 33 in order to reverse the scanning direction of the head 5 while the traveling direction of the tape remains unchanged. Consequently, when the relative scanning speed of the head 5 is high, since tape tension is relatively high by reversing the rotating direction of the drum 2, the tape 1 is hardly floated up. On the other hand, when the relative scanning speed of the head 5 is low, the floating amt. of the tape 1 is not altered as before. Consequently, variations in the floating amt. of the tape 1 due to a revolving speed change of the drum 2 can be diminished.</p> |
