A solid electrolytic capacitor which comprises a positive electrode, a dielectrics film formed on the positive electrode by anodic oxidation, a solid electrolyte layer formed on the dielectrics film, and a negative electrode jointed to the solid electrolyte layer, wherein the solid electrolyte layer comprises a conductive polymer comprising a polymer having, as a recurring unit, a heterocyclic monomer unit represented by general formula (I), and an alkylsulfonic acid ion doped into the polymer. The solid electrolytic capacitor has a large capacitance and exhibits a small impedance at a high frequency region.
