PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately correct the emission intensity of a plurality of laser beam sources. SOLUTION: Each of laser beams output from semiconductor lasers 11a-11h is scanned to the outside of the area of a recording medium 3 while being spread wider in a main scanning direction. The beam intensity of the laser beams scanned to the outside of the area of the recording medium 3 is monitored and the emission intensity of the lasers 11a-11h is individually controlled depending on the beam intensity of the monitored laser beams.
