PURPOSE:To provide a subject device capable of faithfully transmitting a nuance of an original sentence without being different in the original sentence by making the most of a connecting expression appearing in the original sentence, and generating a summarized sentence, while inserting an appropriate connecting expression into an appropriate position. CONSTITUTION:Each sentence is analyzed by connecting expression extracting means 2, 3, the connecting expression is extracted, and each sentence is separated into a connecting expression part and a sentence contents part, and stored in a sentence information storage means 4. The contents of the sentence information storage means 4 are referred by a context structure analyzing means 5, a context structure in which a rhetorical dependency relation of each sentence is expressed with a tree structure is extracted, and is stored in a context information storage means 6. Also, it is determined whether each sentence can be extracted to a summarized sentence or not by a sentence extracting means 7 to store in a sentence extracting information storage means 8. Subsequently, the contents of the sentence information storage means 4, the context information storage means 6 and the sentence extracting information storage means 8 are referred and the summarized sentence is generated by outputting a sentence whose extraction to the summarized sentence is determined while inserting and appropriate connecting expression into an appropriate position. |
