<p>The heater wire are arranged parallel to each other and to the major dimensional axis of the windscreen in the normal way. Perpendicular to their axes, a stripe of temperature sensitive material is placed on the surface of the glass to provide visual indication that each individual wire if functioning when the heater current is applied. The temperature indicator material has reversible temperature/colour characteristics, is a specially prepared soluble adhesive and has visible temperature/colour characterics which depend directly on its moisture content. Cobalt salts such as cobalt chloride, cobalt iodide, or a complex cobalt-pyridine salt may be used.</p> |
