The plates or rods consist of a synthetic hollow shell, with suitable cross section, and an internal core. The shell is manufactured in an extrusion moulding process, and its internal space is filled with foamed synthetic material, which is entirely different to the shell material but forms an intimate connection with it. The core consists of a duroplast synthetic, pref. a multi component foam, while the shell consists of a thermoplastic synthetic. The plates and rods serve as profiled material for the mfe. of window and door frames, benches, base plates, dividing walls or furniture side walls, parapets, balcony screening or similar, to be used in high buildings.
