In apparatus for blending solid particles comprising a container 1 having conduits 15 with inlet openings 16 through which particles are withdrawn and discharged via passages 17 into an outlet 6 where they are blended with particles falling through opening 19, the areas of the discharge outlets of the conduits vary, the discharge outlet of greatest area being associated with the conduit having the lowest upper inlet opening. Each conduit may be partitioned to form two or more passageways, of the same or different cross-sectional area, but with discharge outlets of different areas, Figs. 4a, 4b, 4c (not shown). The conduits may be arranged outside the container, Fig. 5 (not shown). The blend formed at the outlet 6 may be recycled, and the ratio between the areas of annular zone 18 and opening 19 may be adjusted. |
