<p>The screwdriver has a split and twisted shaft with a bushing gliding along the twisted parts and moving the bits so that they lie either on top of each other or side-by-side. There is an adjusting mechanism (33, 35) controlling the split shafts (37), each terminating in a bit (41). The faces of the bits (41) have a trapezoidal shape. If they are stacked, a bit end of double thickness appears: if they are side by side a bit of double width appears. The gliding pushing (35) with suitably shaped openings (49) at each end moves the twisted part of the shaft so that the bit ends lie in one of the two positions. Each extreme position of the bushing corresponds to one of the screwdriver settings.</p> |
