The spinning start-up sequence, especially for open-end rotor spinning, is controlled by measuring a physical property, e.g. pressure, noise level or sound frequency in the rotor box. The property value is compared with previously obtained reference values to relate it to rotor speed and provides a control signal for the controllers of various machine drive units. The rotor housing (4) has provision for a sensor (8) in the interior space (7) and provides a signal for controlling the feed roller (16) and can be connected (21) to a central machine control unit or an automatic travelling piecer. |
