PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital camera capable of contributing to power saving, by controlling positioning operation so as not to perform wasteful positioning operation, when executing positioning operation accompanying photographing operation to suppress power consumption. SOLUTION: The digital camera is provided with a photographic means 2 for photographing an object and generating an image signal; a recording means for recording image data, based on the image signal obtained by the photographic means 2 in a recording medium 16; a positioning means for receiving a plurality of signals, transmitted from a plurality of transmission sources and specifying own position; a power supply 26 for supplying power at least to the photographic means 2, the recording means and the positioning means; an image recognition means 32d for recognizing an image, expressed by the image signal obtained by the photographic means 2; and a control means 31 for controlling the operation of the positioning means, according to a recognition result of the image recognition means 32d and controlling power to be supplied from the power supply 26 to the positioning means.
