PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the deterioration of a muffler effect, by weakening the resonance of sound waves and suppressing a rise of inner sound pressure of a muffler, in the muffler.SOLUTION: A muffler 2 has an introduction attenuating portion 10. The introduction attenuating portion 10 is equipped with an introducing portion 24 for introducing a fluid, an expansion chamber 26, and a leading-out portion 16. The expansion chamber 26 communicates with the introducing portion 24, has a channel cross section larger than a channel cross section of the introducing portion 24, and has a projecting portion 32 on a surface along a traveling direction of sound waves to be suppressed resonance. The leading-out portion 16 communicates with the expansion chamber, has a channel cross section smaller than the channel cross section of the expansion chamber 26, and leads out the fluid in a direction different from an introducing direction of the fluid.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2 |
