An odourless composition for the topical treatment of muscular pains comprises an aqueous solution containing the reaction products of salicylic acid and nicotinic acid with tris-(hydroxymethyl) amino methane, said aqueous solution having a pH in the range 5.0 to 7.5. The composition may be in the form of a liniment, lotion or ointment and may contain conventional excipients. The amount of salicyclic acid and nicotinic acid may be in range 0.5 to 15% and 0.5 to 10% respectively by weight of the total composition and the weight ratio between salicylic and nicotinic acid may be from 10:90 to 90:10. |
