A tape-embossing tool includes a feed roller 42 which is spring-biased towards a projection 48 formed on the body 12 of the tool, the tape 14 being fed between the roller 42 and the projection 48. The roller 42 is formed integrally with a drum (52), Fig. 3 (not shown), which is keyed to an axle (60), one end 90 of a helical spring 80 engaging the drum to urge it towards the projection 48. The drum and axle are loosely mounted for rotation in the body 12. The spring 80 acts to bias an actuating lever 70 clockwise, and to bias a pawl 74 clockwise into engagement with a ratchet-wheel 76 formed on the axle (60). The tape is supplied in a roll 16 which is held within the body 12. A hinged door 18 affords access to the interior of the body. |
