1,203,634. Babies' napkins. BOWATERSCOTT CORP. Ltd. 10 May, 1968 [17 May, 1967], No. 22856/67. Heading A3V. A babies' napkin has an impermeable backing sheet 10 of about 0.025 mm thickness with a marginal back portion 12 and a marginal front portion 11, the backing sheet having a central crutch portion 13 with side edges adapted to fit round a babys thighs, the back portion being wider than the front portion so that in use the ends of the back portion overlap the ends of the front portion to provide holding areas with adhesive such as 15. The adhesive can be in the form of a tab of polypropylene film coated on both faces with adhesive and protected by a strippable covering made of siliconised release paper. The backing sheet 10 may be blanked out of a sheet of polyvinyl chloride, polypropylene or other polyolefins, polyamides or polyesters and may be covered, for comfort, with a thin layer of tissue paper, secured over the entire surface to avoid ruffling. The crutch portion is covered by an absorbent wad 14 consisting of fluffed cellulose pulp covered with either a non- woven fabric or a permeable covering e.g. knitted gauze, the fabric or gauze being secured to the sheet with adhesive. |
