Open fireplaces were in the past assigned the purpose of a cosy living atmosphere. Today, thought is given to improving the degree of efficiency of open fireplaces. Known devices for heat recovery extract the heat energy outside the fire region. The temperatures here are so low that economical utilisation is not guaranteed. Furthermore, these fireplace installations either have to be installed in a new construction or with a great amount of rebuilding and costs. Additionally, there is the disadvantage that the fireplaces are difficult to clean and cause odours. The problem is solved in that, in the fireplace, a pipe coil is laid, which is connected to the water circuit of the house heating installation and thus draws to a great extent heat from the fireplace fire and supplies it to the house heating installation. Pipe coil and frame form a unit, as a result of which no rebuilding measures are necessary on the fireplace. Bearings make possible the tipping up of the pipe coil and thus ease cleaning of the fireplace. Possibilities for use: in all open fireplaces and other fireplaces.
