To create a retaining unit, two guide rails (11,12), relative to their direction of connection, have undercuts and/or support faces, each of which grips around or behind sliding components (7,8) and/or lie upon these sliding components so that they are supported relative to their direction of connection. Winding rollers (5,22) have a longitudinal adjustment facility (17) by means of which the end side sliding components, through longitudinal adjustment of the rollers, are supported and clamped in the guide rails to establish a slide position and winding state of the cover material (2).
