PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a square steel rolling method by which collapse is prevented from occurring in a cross section shape of a square steel after rolling even in a rolled material in which a length of one side of the square steel after the rolling is smaller than a distance between side walls of a caliber.SOLUTION: One end part in a roll shaft direction of a rolled material S is constrained by a side wall 9b near the one end part in the roll shaft direction of the rolled material S of side walls 9b and 9c at both sides in the roll shaft direction of a free caliber 10b, and the rolled material S is rolled in a direction orthogonal to the roll shaft while guiding the other end part in the roll shaft direction of the rolled material S using a side guide 5, separated by a dimension in the roll shaft direction of the rolled material S from a side surface of the rolled material of the side wall 9b near the one end part in the roll shaft direction of the rolled material S, so that a square steel T as a product causing no collapse can be obtained. Further, according to specifications and rolling conditions for the rolled material S, the dimension in the roll shaft direction of the rolled material S is stored in a computer 8 in advance, and a position of the side guide 5 is adjusted according to the stored dimension in the roll shaft direction of the rolled material S. |
