PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To produce a W-Cr based alloy excellent in oxidation resistance and spark consumption resistance, high in sintered density and optimal as an electrode material. SOLUTION: This invention is for an electrode material composed of a W-Cr based alloy having a composition containing, by weight, >=35% W and 30 to 60% Cr, to which at least one kinds of Ni and Fe is added, and further, at least one kind of Si and Al is added by <=5%, and the material is excellent in high temperature oxidation resistance and spark consumption resistance, also has high sintered density and is optimal as the electrode material for a spark plug, or the like.
