PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing process of an acrylic resin emulsion by which a mechanically and chemically stable emulsion particle and a water resistant coating film are obtained. SOLUTION: The manufacturing process of the acrylic resin emulsion comprises emulsion-polymerizing an acrylic monomer (B) using a sparingly water-soluble radical polymerization initiator in the presence of an aqueous emulsion of the acrylic resin [I] obtained by emulsion-polymerizing an acrylic monomer (A) using a water-soluble radical polymerization initiator.
