PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for preventing a stop within an intersection that does not rely on a car-to-car communication function. SOLUTION: A vehicle navigation device 1 wirelessly obtains an exit-side captured image 25 captured by an exit-side camera 7 and an entry-side captured camera 26 captured by an entry-side camera 5. Based on the layout of a group of vehicles within the exit-side captured image 25 obtained, the device specifies the length L1 of a vacant space immediately behind an intersection 3 in an exit road 6 and along the forward direction of the exit road 6. Also, user designation for the user's own vehicle 2 within the entry-side captured image 26 obtained is accepted, and the distance L2 to the intersection 3 from the vehicle 2 related to the designation accepted is specified.
