The present invention relates to a switching device having at least one contact point and an arc blow device related with the contact point. The arc blow device includes at least one blow magnet to generate a magnetic blow field. The blow field has the attribute that switch arc spread when the contact point is opened is blow out from the contact point. According to the present invention, the blow field includes a first magnetic field area and a second magnetic field area arranged closely to the first magnetic field area. A magnetic field line of the first magnetic field area is aligned in an opposite direction to a magnetic field line of the second magnetic field area. The blow field further includes a transition area connecting the first magnetic field area and the second magnetic field area. According to alignment of magnetic field lines in the transition area, starting from the first magnetic field area and the second magnetic field area respectively, the switch arc in the transition area comes from the contact point and is oriented to the first magnetic area or the second magnetic field area, depending on the direction of a current. Thus, the switch arc is blown in the same direction far from the contact point in both cases. |
