<p>A deformable energy absorbing liner applicable to fast reactor safety or shut down channels utilising cylindrical rods. The liner is formed from concentric inner and outer sleeves in which the annulus between the sleeves contains linking radial members with a corrugated profile to permit use of light gauge material and provide structural stability without inhibiting the energy absorbing qualities of the liner. Construction material is stainless steel to provide corrosion resistance, good thermal conductivity and low neutron capture. deformation of the outer sleeve and radial members leaves the inner liner intact for operation of the safety or shut down rod.</p> |
