Railway bogie for heavy loads - has load resting on tray for transverse movement by reversible screw centralising mechanism

The mechanism allows the position of a heavy load to be adjusted transversely on a railway bogie. The load rests on a circular tray (2) fixed to a support platform (4) which is movable on the bogie (1) using support beams (6,7) symmetrical relative to the bogie centre of gravity. The support platform can move transversely to the beams by a centralising mechanism, the beams each being mounted on pivots (9,10) on the longitudinal axis. The centralising mechanism consists of needle rollers (8) working with a reversible screw, each screw having a manually operated crank with a fold-away type stop. The tray is fitted with levelling fixtures all around.
