<p>PURPOSE: To improve the safety and reliability of a printer-driving device of a thermal printer driven with a low voltage to cope with the recent data equipment designed to be driven with low energy. CONSTITUTION: The device has a head driver 2 for controlling the power supply to a heat-generating body of a head and a driver switch 3 for controlling the operation of the head driver 2. The driver switch 3 is formed to be controllable not only by software, but by hardware such as a voltage detection means, a time-counting means, etc. Owing to the operation of the driver switch 3, an unexpected supply of power to the heat-generating body is eliminated, so that the safety and reliability are improved.</p> |
