<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for integrating the management of a user on a network and the user of equipment by an easy operating method. <P>SOLUTION: In the peripheral equipment adaptable to the network equipped with an I/F for connecting to a LAN circuit represented by a network printer device, a network scanner device and an internet facsimile device, information on a user group managed on the network is acquired, and the utilization of the equipment is restricted according to a group to which an operator belongs.
