PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal polymer where the amount of dots such as fish-eyes is reduced at the inside or on the surface of a molded body and which is used in a liquid crystal polymer resin composition that makes the molded body whose appearance is excellent. SOLUTION: [1] The rate of content in weight basis of components having pentamer or less is 500 ppm or less based on the liquid crystal polymer. [2] The rate of content is a calculated value from the total weight of the components having pentamer or less extracted from the liquid crystal polymer by using a solvent containing hetero atoms under pressure at a temperature lower than a critical temperature of the solvent and a deflection temperature under a load of the liquid crystal polymer.
