PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent an elastic plate material from being damaged by bringing the elastic plate material into abutment against other members or bringing the elastic plate materials into abutment against each other during handling and conveying a lock member or when assembling the lock member to a side wall is operated. SOLUTION: A foldable container has one opposing side wall 3 which is at first made to fall down so as to be piled up on the bottom part from the condition that it is assembled into a box shape, and another opposing side wall 2 which is afterward made to fall down so as to be piled up on the one opposing side wall piled up on the bottom part successively to the one opposing side wall, and is arranged with the lock member 4 for inhibiting turning of the side wall in the bottom part direction of the side wall on the one opposing side wall being at first made to fall down. In this foldable container, the lock member is composed of a flat plate body 4a and engaging plate parts 4b formed on both ends of the flat plate body, and the elastic plate material 3s which can elastically deform when the lock member is moved downward is formed on the side wall being at first made to fall down so as to be piled up on the bottom part.
