<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the occurrence of overrun without decreasing the throughput of printing even when image data with low compression rate are transferred and printed. <P>SOLUTION: Image data for each color plane are compressed in a host computer. Each color plane of compressed image data per block is transferred in order of a compression rate or a size to a printer.
