<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image formation device which prevents the printing quality at the time of a copying operation or of receiving and recording a facsimile from worsening even when an interval adjustment value set by an interval adjustment mechanism is not transmitted, by setting the interval adjustment value by a device body separately from a printing operation carried out according to an instruction of an external information processing terminal in the case where the device body instructs printing after the printing operation according to the instruction of the external information processing terminal. <P>SOLUTION: The image formation device has an interval adjusting means for adjusting an interval between an ink discharge part of a printing means and a medium, a first interval instructing means for instructing the interval to be adjusted by the interval adjusting means at the device body, an interval value setting means for setting a value of the interval instructed by the first interval instructing means at the device body, and a second interval instructing means for instructing the interval to be adjusted by the interval adjusting means at the external information processing terminal.
