The invention provides a method for electrically charging a high-voltage battery, in particular a traction battery, from an AC power supply system comprising the following features: the high-voltage battery is connected to the AC power supply system by means of a charging device (OBC) comprising a plurality of voltage rails (L1, L2, L3), wherein a filter capacitor (Cy) is assigned to each voltage rail (L1, L2, L3); a highest possible charging power of the AC power supply system is calculated; at least one voltage rail (L1, L2, L3) which is dispensable for the calculated charging power among the voltage rails (L1, L2, L3) is selected; and the filter capacitors (Cy) assigned to the dispensable voltage rails (L1, L2, L3) are switched off. The invention furthermore provides a corresponding apparatus, a corresponding computer program and a corresponding storage medium. |
