The slide of a mechanical press is actuated by an eccentric 24 removably carried by a stepped flywheel driven, shaft 20. The shaft is journalled in cylindrical bearings 30, 31 located adjacent the eccentric, the housings 34, 36 of the bearings being releasably mounted in suitably aligned slots in the press frame 10. The bearings are lubricated by means of passages 70, 72 and 74 and, if desired, counterweights may be attached to the shaft immediately adjacent the bearings. |
