摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical module, an optical transmitter, and a WDM optical transmission unit, where the temperature of an optical filter is estimated based on that of a light emitting device by the use of a correlation between the temperature characteristic of the light emitting device and that of the optical filter, a shift in a lock wavelength due to the temperature characteristic of the optical filter is corrected, and a laser ray is kept stable in wavelength with high accuracy. SOLUTION: The optical module is equipped with a light emitting element 1 outputting a laser ray, a temperature detecting unit 13 detecting the temperature of the light emitting element 1, a wavelength monitoring unit 2 receiving a laser ray through an optical filter 27, and a temperature regulating unit 3 regulating the wavelength of a laser ray based on an output signal from the wavelength monitoring unit 2. The temperature regulating unit 3 regulates and locks a laser ray at a prescribed wavelength based on the signal from the wavelength monitoring unit 2 after the wavelength of a laser ray is regulated by the wavelength monitoring unit 2 as far as an adjustable range of wavelength based on the signal from the temperature detecting unit 13, the signal from the temperature detecting unit 13 are used for estimating the temperature of the optical filter 27 from that of the light emitting element 1 and correcting a shift of a lock wavelength due to the temperature characteristic of the optical filter 27.
