The operating mechanism associated with a large number of parallel plates arranged close together in an automatic machine for the peeling of sticks of asparagus, act so that the odd numbered plates move upwards and downwards together, whilst at the same time, the even numbered plates move downwards and upwards together. The upper edges of the plates have a curved surface inclined forwards, so that as the sticks are delivered from a chute a vibratory feeder, the parallel plates move the sticks forward one by one on to conveyor belts. The equipment includes an automatic peeling arrangement with a number of sets of cylindrical rollers arranged in two parallel on oscillating arms, and cutting tools which engage in the cylindrical rollers, enclosed in a housing. An automatic peeling machine for sticks of asparagus, only one man being required to operate two to four machines. The design is quite new since conventional semi-automatic machines could not be made automatic. In partic. there is no need for the alignment of the flow of sticks by hand so that the risk of accidents is ruled out. The machine whilst being very efficient is relatively cheap.
|
