PURPOSE: To obtain a surface protective film which, when stuck to a surface of an object to be protected, is free from peeling off in the physical distribution process and during processing and can be lightly peeled off with good workability after use. CONSTITUTION: A surface protective film made by laminating a pressure- sensitive adhesive layer on a base film, wherein the center line average roughness (Ra) of the surface of the base film on the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer side is 0.5-2μm while that (Ra) of the surface of the pressure-sensitive adhesive layer on the side opposite to the base film side is at most 0.2μm.
