PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition not vaporizing at a high temperature efficiently generating a radical, useful as a material for a laminate for a printed wiring board by using a compound of a specific structure as a curing agent. SOLUTION: This composition comprises (A) a polyphenylene ether-based resin, (B) a radical curable compound (e.g. triallyl cyanurate, etc.), and (C) a curing agent composed of a diisopropylbenzene oligomer of formula I (n is 2-50 as an average value). For example, the component A is obtained by subjecting a phenol-based compound of formula II (R1 to R5 are each H, a halogen, a hydrocarbon or the like) to an oxidative polymerization with oxygen or an oxygen-containing gas by using a coupling catalyst. The objective composition is preferably obtained by making the compounding ratio of 40-98 wt.% of the component A, 1-60 wt.% of the component B and 0.1-20 wt.% of the component C.
