A door driver apparatus, which consumes less electric power, comprises a motor (51) disposed within a side door (2); and a mechanical power conveying mechanism (52) disposed within the side door (2) for conveying the driving power of a motor (51) to a tie rod (54). The mechanical power conveying mechanism (52) has a connection mode in which to convey the driving power of the motor to the tie rod and a disconnection mode in which to interrupt the conveyance of the driving power of the motor to the tie rod. The mechanical power conveying mechanism, when placed in the connection mode, generates a power that restrains the side door (2) from becoming unstable relative to a side body (1) of the vehicle. In the disconnection mode, a clutch operating circuit (33) supplies an electric power to the mechanical power conveying mechanism. In the connection mode, the operating circuit interrupts the electric power supply to the mechanical power conveying mechanism. |
