Apparatus for playing a game comprises a ball adapted to be shot along a track towards target symbols, target symbols consisting of hinged ninepins and a receiving hole associated with each of the ninepins serving for the selective reception of the ball and having a control member mounted therein which is adapted to be actuated by the ball and the response of which causes the falling over of the associated ninepin. In the preferred embodiment the track 3 (Fig. 1) for the ball is formed from two wires 3a and 3b (Fig. 2) and begins at the right-hand lower corner of the apparatus in front a spring striking lever 4 and ends in front of the rebound spring 6: each of a row of receiving holes 7 for the ball 2 contains a control member in the form of a feeler 8 each feeler being in communication with one of the hinged ninepins 9; score indicators 10 are associated with the ninepins; within the target area of the receiving pockets 7 are resilient deflection members 11 for the ball: and counters 12 are used for recording the number of shots made or to be made and/or the score. After passing through one of the receiving holes 7 the ball drops back into the initial position on the track 3 in front of the hammer 5 and is ready for a fresh shot. |
