PURPOSE:To accurately correct the positional shift of the side edges of a paper, by moving a unit having a slip roll, a drive roll and chutes, perpendicularly to the direction of paper transfer after the skew of the leading end of the paper being corrected. CONSTITUTION:After the skew of a paper 18 is corrected by striking the same against gates 1, 1, the positional shift or deviation of the side edges (side registration) of the paper 8 are detected by a photosensor array 13 so that a stepping motor 12 is driven in accordance with the detected deviation. With leaving the paper 18 nipped between a slip roll 3 and a drive roll 4 provided in a unit 10, the unit 10 having these rolls 3, 4 and paper chutes 6, 7 which are attached to a frame 5 is movd to accurately correct the positions of the side edges of the paper 18. |
